Jane Mai Ngo

Jane mai Ngo, MA., RCC

Nice to meet you!

About Jane Mai

My name is Jane Mai Ngo (she/her) and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS). I offer counselling for individuals who are  seeking a stronger sense of purpose, increased self-esteem, self-acceptance, and clarity in their lives. I create a healing space for individuals to recover from the relentless effects of intergenerational and childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, and social conditioning that leaves people feeling disconnected from their authentic selves.

I started my helping career at BC Children’s Hospital, in Vancouver BC, after gaining my certification in Child Life. I supported children, teens, and families struggling with depression, grief and loss, medical-related trauma, and phobias using play as a therapeutic modality. I now offer counselling to individuals of all ages, specializing in child and adolescent mental health. I also offer relationship counselling to romantic partners in various types of relationships (open, polyamorous, consensual non monogamy, etc.)

My approach to therapy comes from a Person-Centred Theory. I wish to be a companion alongside someone’s emotional experience by facilitating a warm and empathic climate wherein positive change occurs. I believe that you are the expert in your life, and I will provide you with a soothing space to gain a clearer understanding of your emotions, choices, and your identity. My goal is to allow you to leave every session feeling seen and heard and with some tools to help you move forward.

I use a Strength-Based, Person-Centered, Attachment-Focused, and Culture and Trauma-Informed lens to gain a clear understanding of your story. Together, we will create a safe and trusting space to heal from pain, gain increased resilience to stress, and rediscover trust in yourself and others to have healthy and meaningful relationships.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.

My Registration number is  19913.
